Fairfax Asphalt was founded in 1969 by John Pfaff. After working several years in the asphalt industry, John decided to buy a dump truck and paver to start improving driveways throughout the Twin Cities. After 43 years of paving, John retired and sold the family business to his daughter Kristin. In his retirement, John still enjoys helping out on bigger projects. You'll usually find him operating a roller.
 

Kristin Pfaff has always looked up to her father and had a hand in the business since she was just a little girl. She started working full-time on the paving crew in 1999 while attending college. Kristin took over the company in 2003, the year John retired. She is now the main contact and is involved from estimate through project completion. She oversees all aspects of the business’ operations and it’s likely you’ll still see her on the paving crew!
